Georeferenced photo points from the Eastern Jemez Mountains, New Mexico 2023

This data was used in the analysis for the article "Estimating deciduous fractional shrub cover in a semi-arid landscape to assess post-fire interannual vegetation change" by H. Trommer and T. Assal. The aim of the study was to evaluate changes in Deciduous Fractional Shrub Cover (DFSC) from 2019-2023 using topographic and Sentinel-2 satellite data, and to assess the impact of spatial scale on model performance. This dataset was used to develop a shrub cover base map, using photointerpretation and image classification. It was also used to create a field validated dataset, used as ground truth points for an accuracy assessment. Photos were taken facing north, east, south, and west from each recorded GPS point.

本数据集用于H. Trommer与T. Assal发表的论文《半干旱景观中落叶灌丛覆盖占比估算——评估火灾后年际植被变化》的分析工作。本研究旨在利用地形数据与Sentinel-2卫星数据，评估2019至2023年间落叶灌丛覆盖占比（Deciduous Fractional Shrub Cover, DFSC）的变化情况，并探究空间尺度对模型性能的影响。本数据集被用于通过目视解译与图像分类方法构建灌丛覆盖度基础底图。同时，该数据集还被用于构建野外验证数据集，该数据集可作为精度评估所需的地面真值点。在每一个记录的全球定位系统（GPS）点位上，均朝向北、东、南、西四个方向拍摄了照片。
