Survey on the Importance of Wildlife to Canadians, 1991

The study was conducted to obtain information on the socio-economic importance of wildlife so that support might be gained for the continuation of programs in this area. Three major objectives for the SIWC were presented: to provide basic, accutate, and reliable data on wildlife-related activities to help agencies assess wildlife programs; to provide data that are relatively current, are homogeneous across provincial boundaries, and allow valid tren analysis at 5-year intervals; to provinde data that are comprehensice with regard to a number of groups of wildlife species, and to a number of wildlife-related activities thought the year.
