We studied the effects of aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) activation by a single injection of 2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzodioxin (TCDD), 6-Formylindolo[3,2-b]carbazole (FICZ), or vehicle (corn oil) on mouse liver mononuclear cells challenged with Concanavalin A (ConA) at a dose of 12.5 mg/kg. Treatment with TCDD or FICZ was given 1 hour after ConA and cells were isolated 24 hours after ConA. Overall design: 2-3 samples were analyzed from the naive, ConA+Veh, ConA+TCDD, ConA+FICZ groups. Naive were not given any compound, ConA+Veh is the ConA-exposed, vehicle control, ConA+TCDD is the group exposed to ConA that received TCDD, and ConA+FICZ is the group exposed to ConA that received FICZ.
