Microbial diversity of electrode communities enriched from a subsurface mine

This study evaluated the in situ electrochemical activity of microbial communities in a subsurface mine site, Deep Mine Microbial Observatory (DeMMO) in South Dakota, USA. In situ electrochemical enrichment and monitoring was utilized to assess extracellular electron transfer metabolic activity. The diversity of the resultant enriched communities was evaluated with 16S rRNA sequencing of the V4 region.本研究针对美国南达科他州深部矿井微生物观测站（Deep Mine Microbial Observatory, DeMMO）这一地下矿井点位的微生物群落原位电化学活性展开评估。研究采用原位电化学富集与监测手段，对群落的胞外电子转移代谢活性进行测评；并通过对V4区域的16S rRNA测序，分析了最终富集得到的微生物群落多样性。
