Types of multiple forest disturbances in northern Guangdong
收藏资源简介:
This dataset provides raster products describing the timing and types of multiple forest disturbance events in northern Guangdong Province, China. The products were generated for the study “Mapping multiple forest disturbance types via a temporal segmentation algorithm and Landsat time series”. Using Landsat time-series observations from 1991 to 2021, forest disturbance histories were reconstructed by combining LandTrendr temporal segmentation with a prior knowledge-guided post-segmentation correction strategy. This correction was designed to reduce oversegmentation in highly dynamic short-rotation plantation landscapes and to aggregate fragmented spectral segments into ecologically meaningful disturbance-recovery events. Disturbance agents were then attributed using random forest classifiers. The disturbance-type layers distinguish stable forest, clear logging, selective logging, deforestation, and other disturbances. The year layers record the timing of the corresponding primary, secondary, and tertiary disturbance events. Together, these layers describe the type and year of forest disturbances in northern Guangdong during 1991–2021.
