VPRS 11483 Index of State Schools and Applications for New Schools

These records provide a listing of State Schools buildings and the number of students that those buildings will accommodate.In the 1875 index, Appendix A lists schools in alphabetical order by school name, the school number, locality, and a Board of Advice reference number. Appendix B lists existing schools and applications for new schools, arranged under the several Boards of Advice, with the action taken in regard to each school. The Boards of Advice number from 1 to 306 and each Board was responsible for schools in a specified region of the state. The information listed in Appendix B includes the school number, application number, school name, action taken, new site: whether or Crown land, action taken with regard to site/building. Action involved such things as capitation allowance paid, additional classrooms built, application denied, site obtained, school house enlarged. The Gazette date and completion date is sometimes listed.The April 1913 index lists the school number and name, locality of school, County, Parish, numbers of brick and/or wood buildings at school, number of children that can be accommodated in either brick or wood buildings and remarks (usually total floor space of buildings). At the back of this index is a listing of schools in sequential school number order.The December 1924 indexes are identical in format to the 1913 index.The 1951 index is simply an alphabetical listing of schools by school name, followed by a listing of schools in sequential school number order.

1924年12月版索引的格式与1913年版索引完全一致。
1951年版索引仅按学校名称字母顺序罗列各学校，随后附上按学校编号顺序排列的学校清单。
