This study reports the first occurrence of brown stripe disease on rice (Oryza sativa) in Guangxi, China, caused by Paracidovorax oryzae. The disease was identified through symptomatic leaf samples, isolation on KB medium, and molecular characterization using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Pathogenicity was confirmed via seed soaking and spray inoculation, resulting in typical disease symptoms. Genome analysis using Average Nucleotide Identity (ANI) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) supported the identification. The findings highlight the importance of monitoring and managing this pathogen to ensure rice crop health in the region.

本研究首次报道了在中国广西发生的由稻生副嗜酸杆菌(Paracidovorax oryzae)引起的水稻(Oryza sativa)褐条病。本研究通过采集症状叶片样本、在KB培养基上分离菌株以及利用16S rRNA基因测序进行分子鉴定,确认了该病害。通过种子浸种和喷雾接种试验证实了该病原菌的致病性,接种后植株出现典型病害症状。利用平均核苷酸同源性(Average Nucleotide Identity, ANI)和数字化DNA-DNA杂交(digital DNA-DNA hybridization, dDDH)开展全基因组分析,进一步验证了上述鉴定结果。本研究结果凸显了对该病原菌开展监测与防控的重要性,以保障该地区水稻作物的健康生产。
