Fewer than 50% of patients develop vascular and valvular calcification, implying differential pathogenesis. Disease stage-specific proteomics (non-diseased/fibrotic/calcified areas) was performed on human carotid endarterectomy specimens and stenotic aortic valves merged per donor as fractions.

仅不足50%的患者会发生血管及瓣膜钙化,提示其发病机制存在异质性。本研究针对人类颈动脉内膜切除术(carotid endarterectomy)标本与狭窄主动脉瓣(stenotic aortic valves)标本,开展了疾病分期特异性蛋白质组学(proteomics)分析,该分析覆盖非病变区、纤维化区与钙化区三类疾病分期区域,且上述标本以每位供体为单位合并为检测组分。
