Growing completeness of multi-taxon biodiversity occurrence information is associated with long-term socioeconomic advance in China

The absence of comprehensive species distribution data may hinder our understanding of biogeographic patterns and the development of effective conservation strategies. Although citizen science data on biodiversity present opportunities to address these data deficiencies, it also introduces various biases. Here, we conducted an analysis of the completeness of citizen science data and its driving factors in China to address existing knowledge gaps and offer new insights for biodiversity conservation research and practice.

全面物种分布数据的缺失，或制约我们对生物地理格局的认知，以及有效保护策略的制定。尽管生物多样性领域的公民科学（citizen science）数据可为填补此类数据缺口提供契机，但这类数据本身亦会引入各类偏差。本研究针对中国境内的公民科学数据完整性及其驱动因素开展分析，以期填补现有认知空白，并为生物多样性保护研究与实践提供全新见解。
