Goose (Anser cygnoides) is one of the oldest poultry that has undergone a long domesticated history, and possesses some special biological characteristics such as fast-growing, disease resistance, rough feeding resistance and high capacity for fatty liver production. In order to reveal the molecular basis of these special characteristics of goose, we sequenced and analyzed the genome of goose. This research can enhance the discovery of genetic variations underlying economically important quantitative traits. Moreover, relevant findings on geese disease resistance and hepatic lipid metabolism may have important implications for understanding waterfowl unique immune or disease-resistant mechanisms, as well as research on human liver lipid metabolism related diseases.

鸿雁(Anser cygnoides)是人类驯化历史最为悠久的家禽物种之一,兼具生长速度快、抗病能力强、耐粗饲以及脂肪肝高产性能等独特生物学特性。为揭示鸿雁上述特异性状的分子调控基础,本研究对其全基因组开展了测序与分析工作。本研究有助于发掘与经济重要数量性状相关的潜在遗传变异;此外,有关鸿雁抗病性与肝脏脂代谢的研究成果,可为解析水禽独特的免疫与抗病机制提供理论支撑,同时也将为人类肝脏脂代谢相关疾病的研究提供重要参考。
