Elastomeric rubber bearings are widely used for seismic applications to minimize the structural damage typically found in buildings and bridges in the event of an earthquake. This research has two main objectives, first to increase the available data related to the stability limits of elastomeric bearings and second to compare two different approaches of testing bearing stability. The first, stability method one, subjected the bearings to a constant horizontal displacement and applied an increasing axial load to measure its stability. The second, stability method two, subjected the bearings to a constant axial load and increased the horizontal displacement until the critical load was reached. Characterization tests were also conducted periodically in the test log. Two types of elastomeric rubber bearings are considered for this study: low damping rubber and lead rubber bearings. The data is then compared with numerical analysis.

叠层橡胶支座(Elastomeric Rubber Bearings)广泛应用于抗震工程领域,可有效降低地震发生时建筑物与桥梁常见的结构损伤。本研究包含两大核心目标:其一,扩充与叠层橡胶支座稳定极限相关的可用数据集;其二,对比两种测试支座稳定性的不同方法。第一种稳定性测试方法(方法一):令支座承受恒定水平位移,并施加递增的轴向荷载以测定其稳定性;第二种稳定性测试方法(方法二):令支座承受恒定轴向荷载,逐步增大水平位移直至达到临界荷载。研究期间还定期开展了特性表征测试,相关数据均记录于测试日志中。本研究共涉及两类叠层橡胶支座:低阻尼橡胶支座与铅芯橡胶支座。最后将所得实验数据与数值分析结果进行对比。
