Our study found that knockout of the Piwsc1 gene reduces the virulence of Penicillium italicum against grapefruit fruits by approximately 50%. To investigate the mechanisms underlying the Piwsc1 gene-mediated attenuation of P. italicum virulence, dual RNA-seq was employed to reveal the overall changes in gene expression in both P. italicum and grapefruit during their interaction at the molecular level.

本研究发现，敲除Piwsc1基因可使意大利青霉（Penicillium italicum）对葡萄柚果实的致病力降低约50%。为探究Piwsc1基因介导意大利青霉致病力衰减的分子机制，本研究采用双转录组测序（dual RNA-seq）技术，在分子水平上解析二者互作过程中意大利青霉与葡萄柚的整体基因表达变化。
