The marine dinoflagellate Dinophysis fortii derives plastids indirectly from cryptophte Teleaulax amphioxeia via their ciliate prey, Mesodinium rubrum. Thus, D. fortii plastids are originated from the cryptophyte. To identify D. fortii genes derived from the cryptophyte via lateral gene transfer, transcripts of D. fortii, M. rubrum, and T. amphioxeia were sequenced by illumina NextSeq500.
海洋甲藻(marine dinoflagellate)物种强壮双甲藻(Dinophysis fortii)无法直接获取质体,而是通过其纤毛虫猎物红色中缢虫(Mesodinium rubrum),间接获得源自隐藻(Cryptophyta)物种透明管鞭藻(Teleaulax amphioxeia)的质体。因此,D. fortii的质体起源于该隐藻物种。为鉴定D. fortii中通过水平基因转移(lateral gene transfer, LGT)从隐藻获得的基因,研究人员采用Illumina NextSeq500测序平台对D. fortii、M. rubrum及T. amphioxeia的转录本进行了测序。
