Next generation sequencing is applied to above ground tissue of carnivorous and non-carnivorous plants growing in bogs in the UK and US to sequence ITS2 region of fungal endophyte communtities. Primary goals are to understand the endophyte diversity of these understudied plants, and how endophyte communities differ between plants with different functional traits (trapping mechanisms) and host plant relatedness.

本研究采用下一代测序（Next Generation Sequencing）技术，对生长于英国与美国泥炭沼泽中的食肉植物与非食肉植物的地上组织开展测序，以解析真菌内生菌群落的ITS2区域。本研究的核心目标为阐明此类尚未得到充分研究的植物的内生菌多样性，同时探究内生菌群落在两类对比中的差异：一类是具有不同功能性状（捕虫机制）的宿主植物之间，另一类是亲缘关系各异的宿主植物之间。
