COI Metabarcoding reads for Pyrgulopsis spring snails

These reads were generated as part of a project to identify water sources/springs occupied by spring snails within the genus Pyrgulopsis. Prevalent throughout the U.S. desert Southwest, these tiny gastropods are increasingly a conservation concern for land managers throughout the region. An eDNA assay was designed that uses a metabarcoding strategy to detect Pyrgulopsis from water samples filtered from various sources in the desert Southwest. This enables non-invasive detection of this imperiled group in order to help land managers prioritize localities when formulating conservation strategies.本批测序读段源自一项旨在识别泉螺属（Pyrgulopsis）螺类所栖息的水源与泉眼的研究项目。这类微型腹足类广泛分布于美国西南部沙漠区域，目前正日益成为该区域土地管理者重点关注的保护类群。研究人员开发了环境DNA（eDNA）检测方法，采用元条形码（metabarcoding）策略，可从美国西南部沙漠区域各类水源过滤获得的水样中检测泉螺属螺类。该方法可实现该受胁类群的非侵入式检测，助力土地管理者在制定保护策略时优先确定重点保护区域。
