Colour preference in macroinvertebrates pantrap experiment

The area of study is a grass field on the York University campus. Three colours of pan traps were used; white, blue and yellow. The pan traps were placed in 3 rows of 12 in alternating colours, yielding a replication factor of 12 for each colour. In each of the 3 rows the pan traps will be placed approximately 70cm apart from each other, and the 3 rows will be approximately 1m apart from each other and approximately 7m long in length. Once the pan traps were placed in the field they were then filled half way with soapy water. The pan traps left out for 2 hours in the grass field. Upon the 2 hour mark, all macro-invertebrates found in the bowls were counted and recorded.本研究的采样区域为约克大学校园内的一片草本草地。本次实验使用了白、蓝、黄三种颜色的色盘诱捕器（pan traps）。诱捕器按交替配色的方式布设为3行，每行设置12个，每种颜色的诱捕器重复次数为12次。每行内的诱捕器间距约为70厘米，3行之间的行间距约为1米，单行长约7米。诱捕器布设完成后，向每个诱捕器内加至半满的肥皂水。随后将诱捕器放置在草地中2小时。待放置时长满2小时后，对每个诱捕器内采集到的所有大型无脊椎动物进行计数并记录。
