MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of small, endogenous RNAs that regulate mRNA expressions post-transcriptionally. To study their expression, we collected and sequenced small RNA libraries in Drosophila species. To survey their regulation divergence, we dissected testes from miR-983 mutant and control flies in two sibling species and performed an RNA-seq analysis. Overall design: Two small RNA samples from D. erecta and D. sechellia testes as well as eight RNA-seq samples from D. melanogaster and D. simulans testes were analyzed. For RNA-seq, each genotype contains two biological replicates.

微小RNA(MicroRNAs,miRNAs)是一类内源性小型RNA,可在转录后水平调控信使RNA(mRNA)的表达。为研究其表达模式,我们收集了果蝇属(Drosophila)物种的小型RNA文库并进行测序。为探究其调控差异,我们选取两个近缘果蝇物种,分别解剖其miR-983突变体与对照果蝇的睾丸,并开展RNA测序(RNA-seq)分析。整体实验设计:本研究共分析两类样本,分别为来自直立果蝇(D. erecta)与塞舌尔果蝇(D. sechellia)睾丸的2个小型RNA样本,以及来自黑腹果蝇(D. melanogaster)与拟暗果蝇(D. simulans)睾丸的8个RNA-seq样本。针对RNA-seq样本,每种基因型均设置2个生物学重复。
