A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF AI-GENERATED AND HUMAN-WRITTEN ENGLISH-UZBEK TRANSLATIONS

This theoretical article examines the differences between AI-generated and human-written English–Uzbek translations. Drawing on contemporary translation studies and recent research on artificial intelligence, the paper analyzes translation quality through the lenses of functional equivalence, communicative translation, and socio-cultural approaches. Rather than conducting empirical research, the study synthesizes existing literature to explore how AI systems and human translators differ in accuracy, fluency, cultural adaptation, creativity, and contextual interpretation. The review demonstrates that AI translation technologies have achieved substantial progress in lexical and grammatical accuracy; however, limitations remain in handling figurative language, cultural references, and pragmatic meaning. Human translators continue to play a critical role in ensuring communicative effectiveness and cultural appropriateness. The paper argues that the future of translation lies in collaboration between AI systems and human expertise rather than replacement.本理论性研究探讨了人工智能生成（AI-generated）与人工撰写的英语-乌兹别克语翻译文本之间的差异。本文依托当代翻译研究领域的既有成果与当前人工智能相关前沿研究，从功能对等（functional equivalence）、交际翻译（communicative translation）及社会文化路径三个核心视角，对翻译质量展开系统性分析。本研究未开展实证调研，而是通过整合现有学术文献，探究人工智能系统（AI systems）与人工译者在翻译准确性、文本流畅性、文化适配性、创造性及语境解读能力等维度的差异。本综述结果显示，人工智能翻译技术（AI translation technologies）在词汇与语法准确性层面已取得长足进步，但在处理修辞性语言、文化指涉内容及语用意义方面仍存在明显局限。人工译者在保障交际有效性与文化适配合理性层面，依然发挥着不可替代的关键作用。本文指出，翻译领域的未来发展路径在于人工智能系统与人类专业知识的协同融合，而非彼此取代。
