Protobothrops mucrosquamatus and prey size comparison

Body mass of the <em>Protobothrops mucrosquamatus</em> was bigger in urban comparing with the forest. In addition, we found one urban individual dead due to foraging oversized prey. Different diet between urban and forest suggested that the urban snakes may force to challenge dangerous prey due to low diversity of prey.

相较于森林生境，城市生境中的原矛头蝮（Protobothrops mucrosquamatus）个体体重更大。此外，本研究发现1只城市生境中的原矛头蝮个体因捕食体型过大的猎物死亡。城市与森林生境间的食性差异表明，由于猎物多样性较低，城市生境中的原矛头蝮可能被迫捕食具有危险性的猎物。
