This project focuses on the change in free surface elevation of solitary and transient waves in relation to wave progression and structure interaction. This data can be reused to observe wave changes as it interacts with a square structure and can be used to further investigate additional wave types and heights by comparison. The unique aspect of this project is the large sqaure structure. Not many studies focus on wave-structure interaction with a square structure. This project is geared to professionals in industry, civil engineers, and researchers who may want to utilize a square support rather than a cylinder. City planners may also be interested in this research to predict how a wave would interact with their square infrasturcture.

本项目聚焦于孤立波与瞬态波的自由表面高程(free surface elevation)变化,及其与波浪传播和结构相互作用的关联。本数据集可供重复用于观测波浪与方形结构相互作用时的形态演化过程,还可通过对比分析进一步拓展研究其他波型与波高相关内容。本项目的独特之处在于采用了大型方形结构,当前针对方形结构开展波浪-结构相互作用的研究相对匮乏。本项目面向工业领域专业人员、土木工程师,以及期望采用方形支撑而非圆柱支撑的科研人员。城市规划者亦可借助本研究,预测波浪与其城市方形基础设施的相互作用模式。
