The liver fluke Fasciola hepatica causes significant animal health and economic harm by reducing productivity of meat and dairy production in sheep and cattle. Triclabendazole (TCBZ) is the primary treatment used since it is effective against both juvenile and adult stages. We performed genetic mapping to localise the genomic region under selection, followed by analysis of field isolates and RNAseq to further validate and characterise the molecular bases of TCBZ resistance.

肝片形吸虫(Fasciola hepatica)可通过降低绵羊与牛的肉用、乳用生产产能,对动物健康及经济造成严重危害。三氯苯达唑(Triclabendazole,TCBZ)是目前临床首选的治疗药物,因其对该寄生虫的幼龄与成虫阶段均具有高效驱虫活性。本研究通过遗传定位技术定位了受选择的基因组区域,随后结合野外分离株分析与RNA测序(RNAseq)实验,进一步验证并解析了三氯苯达唑耐药性的分子基础。
