资源简介:
Increasingly, as divers work in and explore the marine environment, they confront an expanding array of contaminants and other threats to their health. These dangers include microbes from sewage and other sources, chemicals, cold, heat and even radioactivity. Divers are called upon to function under a wide range of conditions, from inside nuclear power facilities to deep within pools that may be contaminated by chemicals, sewage or other toxic substances. Even environments previously thought to be benign such as coastal ocean waters may pose some hazards, especially near sewage outfalls or other areas which feel the effects of human habitation. In this volume a number of researchers discuss the many hazards divers are likely to encounter in polluted waters. Grant no. NA86AA-D-SG006 Grant no. NA90AA-D-SG063
