The male terminalia of Drosophila melanogaster has undergone rapid morphological change between it and its closely related species, making it a useful model for studying evolution and development. In order to identify the network components that pattern the male terminalia, we isolated and sequenced whole RNA from two timepoints during pupal development, and next performed in situ hybridization for 100 highly expressed transcription factors during pupal development. RNA from 4 samples each from 24 hour APF and 28 hour APF D. melanogaster male pupal terminalia were isolated and sequenced using Illumina sequencing.
黑腹果蝇(Drosophila melanogaster)的雄性尾器(male terminalia)在其与近缘物种间经历了快速的形态演化,使其成为研究演化与发育生物学的理想模型。为解析调控该雄性尾器发育模式的分子网络组分,本研究分离并测序了蛹期发育阶段两个时间点的总RNA,随后针对蛹期发育过程中100个高表达转录因子(transcription factors)开展了原位杂交(in situ hybridization)实验。本研究分别从蛹形成后24小时(24 hour APF)与蛹形成后28小时(28 hour APF)的黑腹果蝇雄性蛹尾器中各采集4份样本,对其总RNA进行分离并采用Illumina测序技术完成测序。
