This dataset provides Fractional Vegetation Cover (FVC) data for the five Central Asian countries—Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan—covering the years 2010, 2015, and 2020. The FVC data was derived from the MODIS-NDVI dataset (product ID: "MOD13A2.006") using an empirical relationship between vegetation cover and NDVI in arid regions. The MODIS-NDVI product has a temporal resolution of 1 year and a spatial resolution of 1 km. The adopted algorithm selects the optimal available pixel values from all annual observational data following the criteria of low cloud cover, low detection angle, and the highest NDVI value, and performs the required conversion calculations.
