Hecate Strait Oceanographic Radar System Deployed 2019-10-04

The Hecate Strait CODAR Array was deployed on 2019-10-04 at Hecate Strait. The Hecate Strait is a wide and shallow strait that is located between Haida Gwaii and the British Columbia mainland. This device is a Oceanographic Radar System. Oceanographic radars measure the ocean surface currents and waves in near real-time, by timing reflected radio waves, and contribute to an accurate prediction of severe weather conditions. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.

赫卡特海峡海流雷达阵列（CODAR Array）于2019年10月4日部署于赫卡特海峡。赫卡特海峡是位于海达瓜依（Haida Gwaii）与加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚省本土之间的宽阔浅海海峡。该设备为海洋雷达系统（Oceanographic Radar System），此类海洋雷达通过计量反射无线电波的传播时间，可近实时获取海洋表面流与海浪数据，为极端天气的精准预报提供支撑。本次部署的阵列搭载于固定平台，所产生的全部数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 2.0数字基础设施对外开放共享；其数据质量保证流程及衍生数据产品均严格遵循行业既定规范。
