Lower Swan Canning Estuary to Upper Swan Estuary Water Quality Monitoring 2017-18

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) conducts routine monitoring of water quality in the Swan Canning Estuary. Data collected through the monitoring program is used to inform management of the river system by DBCA.

Data produced through the monitoring program provides essential information to assess system response to management actions and to report against estuary water quality targets, and phytoplankton trigger levels. Data produced have also been utilised in numerous investigations conducted by both government agencies and tertiary institutions, including modelling, that contribute to our understanding of estuary condition and response and that evaluate potential impacts on the system into the future.

Data collected is stored in the Water Information Network (WIN) database maintained by the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) and is made publicly available via the Water Information Reporting (WIR) portal.

本监测项目产出的数据，可为评估水系对管理措施的响应情况、对照河口水质目标及浮游植物触发阈值开展达标评估与报告工作提供关键支撑信息。此外，这些数据已被众多政府机构与高等院校的多项调研工作所采用，涵盖各类建模研究。这些研究既有助于深化我们对河口生态状况及其响应机制的认知，也可用于评估未来可能对该水系造成的潜在影响。

所采集的数据会被存储于由水与环境监管部（Department of Water and Environmental Regulation，缩写DWER）维护的水资源信息网络（Water Information Network，缩写WIN）数据库中，并通过水资源信息报告（Water Information Reporting，缩写WIR）门户网站面向公众开放获取。
