Consumption Expenditure Survey - 2003 Livelihood System of Rural Household Survey

1) Measuring living standard of all households in the four sample villages using the state of the art consumption expenditure survey instrument (IRRI had never done such survey in the Philippines because IRRI had traditionally relied exclusively on household income, rather than consumption expenditure, as the measure of living standard/household welfare.); 2) Characterizing basic patterns of household consumption expenditures; 3) Analyzing economic mobility and poverty dynamics during 1996 and 2003; 4) Exploring potential consequences of sample attrition (due to migration) in panel data analysis using a module tracking outmigrants; and 5) Obtaining a base-line data for any future studies on changes in living standard in the sample villages.

1）采用前沿的消费支出调查工具，对四个样本村庄内所有家庭的生活水平进行测算（国际水稻研究所（International Rice Research Institute，IRRI）此前从未在菲律宾开展过此类调查，因该机构以往仅以家庭收入而非消费支出作为生活水平/家庭福利的衡量指标）；2）刻画家庭消费支出的基本特征模式；3）分析1996年至2003年间的经济流动性与贫困动态；4）通过搭建追踪外流移民的分析模块，探究面板数据分析中因移民导致的样本流失所可能产生的潜在后果；5）为后续针对样本村庄生活水平变化开展的各类研究提供基线数据。
