Number of regular staff members of the Consumer Affairs Agency of Japan FY 2010-2019

The Consumer Affairs Agency of Japan had 363 regular staff members by the end of fiscal year 2019. The agency, which was established in September 2009 after a number of consumer-harming incidents, such as food poisoning cases and various accidents, saw a steady increase of regular staff members throughout the past years. Among others, its tasks include consumer education and food labeling, and it also supervises the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan.
