The samples cover the entire first member of the Bayingebi Formation (total thickness: 189 m). Specific grouping: 26 samples were prepared as thin sections for microscopic and scanning electron microscope (SEM) observations; 71 samples were analyzed for mineral composition using X-ray diffraction (XRD); 51 mudstone and marlstone samples were selected for determinations of total organic carbon (TOC), organic carbon isotope (δ¹³C), and nitrogen isotope (δ¹⁵N); while 20 high-organic-content mudstone samples were used for biomarker analysis via gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS); and 369 samples were subjected to chromaticity and magnetic susceptibility (MS) measurements.

本次研究所用样品覆盖巴音戈壁组一段(Bayingebi Formation)的全部地层,总厚度达189米。具体实验分组如下:制备26件薄片样品用于显微观测及扫描电子显微镜(scanning electron microscope, SEM)分析;选取71件样品通过X射线衍射(X-ray diffraction, XRD)测定矿物组成;挑选51件泥岩与泥灰岩样品,开展总有机碳(total organic carbon, TOC)、有机碳同位素(δ¹³C)及氮同位素(δ¹⁵N)测试;另有20件高有机质含量泥岩样品,采用气相色谱-质谱联用(gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, GC-MS)技术进行生物标志物分析;此外还对369件样品进行色度与磁化率(magnetic susceptibility, MS)测定。
