Goals:This project aims to investigate the bacterial communities associated with Calanoida and their fecal bacteria, as well as free living and particle attached bacteria from surrounding lake waters across different regions in China. Using 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, we seek to characterize the diversity, composition, and potential sources of copepod-associated bacteria.Relevance:Understanding the microbiota of zooplankton and their relationship with environmental bacterial pools is essential for elucidating microbial assembly processes and ecological functions in freshwater ecosystems. The generated data will provide a valuable resource for microbial ecology studies, particularly regarding host microbe interactions and the role of zooplankton in freshwater microbial networks.
