Differences in the gut microbiota between healthy and diarrhea of feline

Compared with healthy cats, the diversity of intestinal microorganisms in cats with diarrhea is significantly reduced. The abundance of conditional pathogens such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella increases, while the number of beneficial bacteria like Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus decreases. This suggests that microbial imbalance may be one of the important causes of diarrhea.
