Lowy Institute Poll 2012: Australia and the World - Public Opinion and Foreign Policy

The Lowy Institute Poll surveys are designed to capture and track any long-term changes in Australian public opinions on a broad range of foreign policy issues. The 2012 Lowy Institute Poll reports the results of a nationally representative opinion survey of 1,005 Australian adults 18 years and older conducted in Australia between 26 March and 10 April 2012 using mobile and landline telephones. This is the eighth in the series and repeats many of the questions asked in earlier polls (ADA Study Numbers 01084, 01114, 01126, 01134, 01158, 01238 and 1239), revealing trends in public opinion on topics including foreign policy, international security, climate change, and attitudes towards the United States and China. Topics covered include feelings towards other countries, foreign purchases of Australian farmland, uranium sales to India, relations with Fiji, the Bali bombings, the Emissions Trading Scheme, global warming, war in the Middle East, migration, Australia's image in Asia, the United States Presidential elections, United States military bases, China, democracy and human rights, and economic integration with New Zealand. Background variables include age group, gender, country of birth and parents' country of birth, language spoken at home, income and highest level of education.

本次民调涵盖的议题包括：各国好感度、外国资本收购澳大利亚农田、向印度出口铀、与斐济的双边关系、巴厘岛爆炸案、碳排放交易体系（Emissions Trading Scheme）、全球变暖、中东战事、移民问题、澳大利亚在亚洲的形象、美国总统选举、美国军事基地、中国议题、民主与人权，以及与新西兰的经济一体化。
本次调查的背景变量包括：年龄组别、性别、出生国家及父母出生国家、家庭使用语言、收入水平与最高受教育程度。
