EPM 19767 Darter project was obtained to explore for a range of different styles of mineralisation. Exploration initially focussed on phosphate and uranium mineralisation in the Phanerozoic aged sedimentary rocks that overlie Proterozoic-aged crystalline basement rocks of the Mt Isa Inlier. Recently the potential of the basement rocks to host and iron oxide copper gold (IOCG) and Pb-Zn-Ag mineralisation is recognised.
Due to a recent strategic focus on more advanced prospects considered to offer greater potential, 4 subblocks CLON 1320 T, CLON 1320 U, CLON 1320 Y and CLON 1320 Z were relinquished 15 September 2025. The subblocks relinquished are not considered prospective for basement base metals mineralisation.
An air core drilling program of nine drill holes between 26 to 29 November 2016 tested prospective Cambrian stratigraphy near the western edge of the Burke River Outlier for phosphate mineralisation. Six of the nine drill holes drilled for a total of 483 m were in the 4 subblocks relinquished. Hole depths ranged from 54 m to 100 m and all holes were terminated in Cambrian stratigraphy. No phosphate mineralisation was intersected.
