We used RNA-se to compare gene expression patterns in workers of the bumble bee Bombus impatiens in response to the queen, the brood, both or none. Overall design: Pairs of newly emerged bumble bee workers were assigned to four treatments and kept for three days with the queen (CQ), young brood (CB), the queen and young brood (CBQ), or alone (C). RNA was isolated from brain tissue and six replicates per treatment were sequenced on three Illumina NextSeq 550 High Output, 75 nt single read sequencing, runs.

本研究利用RNA测序(RNA-seq)对比熊蜂(Bombus impatiens)工蜂在分别受蜂后、幼蜂子、蜂后与幼蜂子共同作用,或无任何外界作用时的基因表达模式。实验整体设计如下:将成对的新羽化熊蜂工蜂分为四组处理,分别与蜂后(CQ)、幼蜂子(CB)、蜂后与幼蜂子(CBQ)共同饲养3天,或单独饲养(C)。从脑组织中分离总RNA,每个处理组设置6个生物学重复,通过3轮Illumina NextSeq 550 High Output测序平台开展75 nt单端测序。
