数据集分为反气旋涡(anticyclonic eddy,AE)和气旋涡(cyclonic eddy,CE)两个大类。中尺度涡旋轨迹以年为单位、50组存储为一个数据单元,存储格式为netCDF4格式。每个netCDF文件包含至多50组涡旋轨迹,具体数目由“eddy_num”变量指示,涡旋轨迹由对应涡旋类型与组别数标识,每组包含变量“time”、“bound”、“center”、“radius”、“eke”、“amplitude”和“vorticity”,分别对应中尺度涡旋的存在时间、几何中心、平均半径、总的动能、平均振幅和总的涡度。以“eddy_infos_SCS_SEIA-AE_1993_01/AE_01/time”为例,其表示基于SEIA算法的南海1993年输出的第一个50组反气旋涡中第一个涡旋的存在时间。
This dataset is divided into two major categories: anticyclonic eddies (AE) and cyclonic eddies (CE). Mesoscale eddy trajectories are stored in netCDF4 format, with each data unit corresponding to an annual dataset and containing up to 50 sets of trajectories. Each netCDF file holds at most 50 sets of eddy trajectories, and the exact number is indicated by the variable "eddy_num". Eddy trajectories are identified by their corresponding eddy type and set number. Each set includes the variables "time", "bound", "center", "radius", "eke", "amplitude", and "vorticity", which respectively correspond to the existence duration, geometric boundary, geometric center, average radius, total kinetic energy, average amplitude, and total vorticity of the mesoscale eddy. Take "eddy_infos_SCS_SEIA-AE_1993_01/AE_01/time" as an example: this path denotes the existence duration of the first eddy in the first batch of 50 anticyclonic eddy sets output for the South China Sea in 1993 using the SEIA algorithm.
