The Gulf Of Tehuantepec Experiment, Coupled Development of Ocean Waves and Boundary Layers (aka OceanWaves) was an experiment that aimed to measure the coupled development of the atmospheric boundary layer and the surface wave field over the Gulf of Tehuantapec, off southern Mexico's Pacific coast. GOTEX was conducted during the period from February 3 to February 29, 2004. This dataset contains Low-Rate (LRT, 1 sps) airborne measurements obtained from the NSF/NCAR Research Aviation Facility (RAF) C-130Q Hercules aircraft (Tail Number N130AR). The files are in netCDF format. NOTE: These data were updated May, 2011 to correct a systematic bias in the 3-D winds.
特万特佩克湾海洋波浪与边界层耦合发展试验(又名OceanWaves)是一项旨在探测墨西哥南部太平洋沿岸外特万特佩克湾上空大气边界层与海面波场耦合演化过程的科研试验。GOTEX试验于2004年2月3日至2月29日期间实施。本数据集包含由美国国家科学基金会/国家大气研究中心(NSF/NCAR)航空研究设施(Research Aviation Facility,RAF)的C-130Q“大力神”运输机(机尾编号N130AR)获取的低速率(Low-Rate,简称LRT,1 sps)机载观测数据。所有数据文件均采用netCDF格式存储。注:本数据集于2011年5月完成更新,以修正三维风场中的系统偏差。
