POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS FOR DOUBLE DITCH HISTORIC SITE (32BL8), NORTH DAKOTA

Seven pollen and two phytolith samples were examined from the Double Ditch Historic
Site (32BL8) on the east bank of the Missouri River in North Dakota. Samples were collected
from fill of a former fortification ditch around a Mandan village. Analysis of these samples was
undertaken in an effort to recover evidence of agriculture, especially in regards to possible
garden plots and cultivation.

本研究针对北达科他州密苏里河东侧岸畔的双沟历史遗址（Double Ditch Historic Site，编号32BL8）所出土的7份花粉样品与2份植硅体（phytolith）样品开展了检测分析。所有样品均采集自曼丹人村落周边一处昔日防御壕沟的填土中。本次分析旨在获取农业活动相关证据，尤其聚焦于该区域可能存在的菜园地块与耕作行为的相关佐证。
