The pixels that did not experience changes in land cover types between 2000 and 2010 were then extracted by comparing the results from the two years, to understand the spatiotemporal patterns of the potential afforestation. This hypothetical forest change is not really happening, but is based on changes in the 5 × 5 km sample grid cells of types including NF, CR, GR, and PF that have not changed for 2000-2010.通过比对2000年与2010年的土地覆盖分类结果，提取出2000至2010年间土地覆盖类型未发生变化的像素，以解析潜在造林活动的时空格局。该假设性森林变化并非真实存在的地表过程，其以2000-2010年间土地覆盖类型未发生改变的NF、CR、GR、PF五类5×5千米样地网格单元的变化特征为基础构建。
