Nimbus-4 Backscatter Ultraviolet Experiment Total-Column Ozone Observations

The Backscatter Ultraviolet (BUV) Experiment started in April 1970 aboard the Nimbus-4 satellite. The experiment measured ultraviolet radiation at twelve wavelengths globally on the daylight side, and total ozone was inferred from the radiation measurements. This dataset contains those total ozone data up until the BUV instrument reached its end-of-life in 1977.后向散射紫外（Backscatter Ultraviolet, BUV）实验于1970年4月搭载在雨云4号（Nimbus-4）卫星上正式启动。该实验在全球昼侧以12个波长对紫外辐射进行测量，并通过辐射观测数据反演得到大气总臭氧含量。本数据集收录了直至1977年该BUV仪器寿命终止前的全部总臭氧观测数据。
