The purpose of the dataset C. elegans terminal bulb aging is to deduce the age of the nemathode based on images of the pharynx terminal bulb (part of the eating apparatus). Images of C. elegans were taken at different chronological ages. This image is part of the day 2 data set. Note that the morphological and chronological ages are not fully correlated due to the variability among individuals even though the individuals are genetically identical. The source for the dataset is Laboratory of Genetics/NIA/NIH.本数据集为秀丽隐杆线虫（C. elegans）咽端球衰老数据集，其构建目标为基于咽端球（进食器官的组成部分）的显微图像，推断秀丽隐杆线虫的实际年龄。该数据集采集了不同日龄阶段的秀丽隐杆线虫图像，本示例图像隶属于第2日龄数据集。需注意，即便个体为遗传背景完全一致的同基因系，由于个体间存在自然异质性，其形态学年龄与实际日龄并不能完全对应。本数据集的来源为美国国立衰老研究所（NIA）/美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）遗传学实验室。
