We are going to examine the olivine microstructural development in the highly-shocked shergottite, a martian basalt with crustal process. The goal is to observe how the excessive shock strain distort crystals and further form subdomain by dislocation migration. Then, the microstructure of CaCO3 precipitated from bio-cementation in sand will be studied, in the case of a highly cemented sample. The results will be compared to the ones obtained previously for a lightly cemented sample. This will give more insight on the growth process of the calcium carbonate crystals.
本研究将对强冲击辉玻无球粒陨石(shergottite)——一种受地壳作用影响的火星玄武岩——中的橄榄石(olivine)微观结构演化进行分析。本研究旨在探究过度冲击应变如何使晶体发生畸变,并通过位错迁移进一步形成亚畴。随后,本研究还将针对砂体中经生物胶结作用析出的碳酸钙(CaCO3)的微观结构开展研究,实验样品为高胶结程度试样。研究将把本次实验所得结果与此前针对低胶结程度试样获取的结果进行对比。该研究将为碳酸钙晶体的生长过程提供更为深入的科学认知。
