Marble Head of a Youth from a Relief

This head probably was part of a large, elaborate grave monument. The strongly projecting forehead and deep-set eyes, which give an intense expression to the face, are similar in style to works that have been associated with Skopas, a famous sculptor of the fourth century B.C.这件头像大概率曾是一座宏大精致的墓葬纪念物的组成部分。其前额高耸突出，双眼深陷，赋予面部极具张力的神情，风格与被学界归为公元前4世纪著名雕塑家斯科帕斯（Skopas）的作品颇为相近。
