The marker rs11190870 at LBX1 is significantly associated in our European population while rs6570507 at GPR126 is nominally associated in the present study. Our study does not show evidence of association to AIS in CHL1 and SOX9. The marker rs10510181 at CHL1 was originally identified in a European population while markers at GPR126, LBX1 and SOX9 were discovered in Asian populations. rs10510181 and rs11190870 were imputed in this study.
