Both datasets were recorded within the York University woodlands. Dataset 1 was recorded in the Osgoode Woodlot and dataset 2 was recorded in the Boyer Woodlot a week later. The weather conditions during both datasets were cloudy with light rain. We measured the canopy cover by looking directly above, making circles with our hands, and estimating the percentage of canopy cover. The canopy coverage was categorized into low, medium, and high coverage. Each level consisted of five red, five yellow, and five white pan traps. The pan traps were filled with soapy water to trap organisms and left to sit for two hours before being collected and recorded.

两份数据集均采集于约克大学(York University)的林地范围内。数据集1采集于奥斯古德林地(Osgoode Woodlot),数据集2于一周后在博耶林地(Boyer Woodlot)完成采集。两份数据集采集时段的天气均为阴天伴有小雨。我们通过直视头顶、双手圈定观测范围并估算冠层覆盖百分比的方法,开展冠层覆盖度测量工作。冠层覆盖度被划分为低、中、高三个等级,每个覆盖等级均布设5个红色、5个黄色及5个白色的盘形诱捕器(pan traps)。盘形诱捕器内注入肥皂水以捕获生物,静置两小时后进行收集与数据记录。
