Insulin-like sequences identified in the tentacle transcriptomes of three individuals of the Australian endemic species of sea anemone Oulactis sp. The four translated nucleotide sequences identified have similarity (protein family Insulin/Relaxin-PF00049) to the A and B chain of human and cone snails insulin. Insulin sequences are of interest for biomedical applications, having been isolated from Cone snail venom where it plays a biological role inducing prey into an insulin coma for ease of capture.
本数据集收录了从澳大利亚特有海葵物种Oulactis sp.的3个个体的触手转录组(transcriptome)中鉴定出的类胰岛素序列。所鉴定得到的4条经翻译的核苷酸序列,与人类及芋螺(cone snail)胰岛素的A、B链具有序列相似性,所属蛋白家族为胰岛素/松弛素家族(Insulin/Relaxin-PF00049)。此类胰岛素序列因在生物医学领域具备应用潜力而备受关注,此前已从芋螺毒液中分离得到,其生物学功能为诱导猎物进入胰岛素昏迷状态,以方便捕获猎物。
