Effect of Corexit alone and in Combination with DWH Mousse Upon Zebrafish Embryo Mortality: Direct Contact and Non-Contact Exposures to Mousse

The purpose of this dataset was to examine: 1) if Corexit alone in the water at 0.0, 0.3, 3.0 and 100 mg/l concentrations elicits toxicity; 2) if direct contact to mousse or non-contact with mousse with water as the intermediate interface with embryos influences toxicity to the mousse and 3) to determine if Corexit concentration influences the mortality for either exposure modality. Mortality was not significantly increased by increasing concentrations of Corexit from 0.0 to 100 mg / l. Mortality was much higher for the direct contact exposures than the non-contact exposures during the 192 hour observation interval. This relates to a greater toxicity of direct contact exposures. Corexit did not alter the low 192 hr mortality incidence for non-contact exposures but was altered at the highest Corexit concentration of 100mg/ l.
