Effects of intestinal environment on egg production in laying hens

Intestine is primary organ for digestion and absorption of nutrients, and maintenance of its health is important for sustainable meats and eggs production in chickens. Intestinal health is closely related to condition of intestinal environment such as balance of microbiota, mucosal barrier function and cytokine production. Disruption of intestinal environment including intestinal inflammation declines poultry productivity. However, the mechanisms by which egg production was reduced by disruption of intestinal environment is still unknown. The goal of the study was to determine the effects of disruption of intestinal environment and egg production in laying hens.

肠道是营养消化与吸收的核心器官，维持肠道健康对于家禽可持续生产肉、蛋具有重要意义。肠道健康与肠道微环境状态密切相关，涉及微生物群（microbiota）平衡、黏膜屏障功能及细胞因子产生水平等多个方面。肠道环境失衡（包括肠道炎症）会降低家禽生产性能。然而，肠道环境失衡导致产蛋量下降的具体机制目前仍不明确。本研究旨在明确肠道环境失衡对产蛋鸡产蛋性能的影响。
