Transcript data from gastrocnemius muscle from fasted-state male muscle-specific General Control of Amino Acid Synthesis Protein 5 knockout mice (Gcn5 skm-/- ) and wild-type mice (Gcn5skm+/+). We used microarrays to detail the effects of muscle-specific loss of GCN5 on the global program of gene expression in gastrocnemius muscle. Chow diet fed 6-months-old male mice were fasted for 5 hours, anesthetized under isoflurane, then gastrocnemius skeletal muscles were snap-frozen in liquid nitrogen for RNA extraction and RNEasy cleanup. Samples included 4 animals for each geneotype which were prepared and run on Affymetrix arrays.
