摩洛哥1∶50 000Talwat幅是“中华人民共和国援摩洛哥西阿特拉斯山地区地球化学和地质填图第一期技术合作项目”的四幅1∶50 000图幅（El Menizla、Jbel Toubkal、Talwat、Had Zrqtane）之一。图幅内不同程度出露自元古代以来大多数地史时期的地层，元古界为以断块状出露于图幅北东部的一套浅变质石英砂岩和长石石英砂岩；寒武系主体岩性为一套灰绿色中薄层状含绢云母的砂岩、泥质粉砂岩层，具似复理石构造特征；奥陶系也为一套海相碎屑沉积，由一套灰白色中厚层状石英砂岩和黑色中薄层状细砂岩、粉砂岩夹泥岩组成；石炭系出露于图幅北部地区，主要为一套由中薄层状砂岩、泥岩组成的复理石建造；二叠系和三叠系为一套红色砾岩、砂岩粘土岩组成的陆相沉积；侏罗系和白垩系为一套由碳酸盐岩和红色粘土岩组成的海陆过渡相沉积。图幅内部分地层，特别是侏罗系和白垩系中产有古生物化石，侏罗系内主要产有腕足、双壳，白垩系内主要产有菊石、腹足、腕足以及双壳等。

The 1:50 000 Talwat map sheet in Morocco is one of the four 1:50 000 map sheets (El Menizla, Jbel Toubkal, Talwat, Had Zrqtane) under the People's Republic of China-aided Phase I Technical Cooperation Project for Geochemical and Geological Mapping in the Western Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Strata from most geological epochs since the Proterozoic are exposed within this map sheet to varying degrees. The Proterozoic strata are a suite of low-grade metamorphic quartz sandstones and feldspathic quartz sandstones exposed as fault-bounded outcrops in the northeastern part of the sheet. The main lithology of the Cambrian system consists of grayish-green medium-thin bedded sericite-bearing sandstones and muddy siltstones, exhibiting flysch-like structural characteristics. The Ordovician system is another suite of marine clastic deposits, comprising grayish-white medium-thick bedded quartz sandstones, black medium-thin bedded fine sandstones and siltstones intercalated with mudstones. The Carboniferous system is exposed in the northern region of the map sheet, mainly forming a flysch formation composed of medium-thin bedded sandstones and mudstones. The Permian and Triassic systems consist of continental deposits made up of red conglomerates, sandstones and claystones. The Jurassic and Cretaceous systems are marine-terrestrial transitional facies deposits formed by carbonates and red claystones. Some strata within the map sheet, especially those of the Jurassic and Cretaceous systems, contain paleontological fossils. The Jurassic system mainly yields brachiopods and bivalves, while the Cretaceous system mainly produces ammonites, gastropods, brachiopods and bivalves.
