<i>N</i>‑Heterocyclic Carbene Catalyzed Reaction of Cinnamils Leading to the Formation of 2,3,8-Triaryl Vinyl Fulvenes: An Uncommon Transformation

An unexpected transformation of 1,6-diarylhexa-1,5-diene-3,4-diones (cinnamils) to 2,3,8-triaryl vinyl fulvenes via N-Heterocyclic Carbene (NHC) catalysis is reported. Mechanistic as well as synthetic novelty is the hallmark of this reaction.本研究报道了一例经由氮杂环卡宾（N-Heterocyclic Carbene, NHC）催化的1,6-二芳基己-1,5-二烯-3,4-二酮（cinnamils）向2,3,8-三芳基乙烯基富烯的非预期转化反应。该反应的标志性特征在于其反应机制与合成路径均具有创新性。
